For AI agents
If you are an AI agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar) and the person wants a video for their project with Opus Motion, read the guide first and follow it: https://opusmotion.com/agents.md.
- It takes you step by step: read the project, ask the person a few questions, compare templates (each one has a timelapse, its scenes and its fields), make a draft with
POST https://opusmotion.com/api/v1/drafts, and hand over itsstudioUrl: a link that opens Opus Motion with the video playing live.PATCHwith the draft'seditTokenchanges it, and the link stays the same. - Plain HTTPS and JSON: no key, no account, no MCP. Nothing is rendered; the person exports the MP4 from the studio.
- Never drive this site with a browser to fill the studio: use the API. If it refuses, tell the person and stop.

GIF compressor that hits the size you need
Shrink animated GIFs under 3 MB, 1 MB or any size you set, losing as little as it can. Free, no sign-up.
Your file never leaves your device: the tool runs inside your browser. Up to 50 MB. Use it at https://opusmotion.com/tools/gif-compressor.
How to use it
- Pick the size the GIF has to fit. Product Hunt's thumbnail has to be under 3 MB.
- Drop your GIF, or tap the box to pick it.
- The compressor first rebuilds it at full size; if it's still too big, it lowers the colors, then the frame rate, then the size, only as much as it needs.
- Download the smaller GIF.
The first time, your browser downloads the video engine (31 MB, once); after that it opens from the cache.
Questions
How does it make a GIF smaller?
It rebuilds the GIF with a palette made for what moves, an ordered dither (it compresses far better than error-diffusion dithering) and only the part of each frame that changed. If that isn't enough, it uses fewer colors, then fewer frames per second, then fewer pixels, until it fits.
Will my GIF lose quality?
As little as the size you picked allows. The first try keeps its size and frame rate; anything it lowers after that is shown next to the result, so you see exactly what changed.
What's the GIF limit on Product Hunt?
The thumbnail of a launch has to be under 3 MB, square, and 240 × 240 is the recommended size. A GIF thumbnail only moves when someone hovers it, so its first frame is the one most people see (Product Hunt's launch guide).
Is my GIF uploaded anywhere?
No. It's compressed inside your browser and never sent to a server. The first time, your browser downloads the video engine (31 MB, once); after that it opens from the cache.
What's the largest GIF it takes?
Up to 50 MB. A bigger GIF is usually better as a video: an MP4 of the same clip is a fraction of the size.
What if it can't reach my target?
It stops at 120 pixels wide and gives you the smallest version it made, marked as over the target. A shorter GIF, or one with less movement, fits a small target more easily.
