For AI agents

If you are an AI agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar) and the person wants a video for their project with Opus Motion, read the guide first and follow it: https://opusmotion.com/agents.md.

  • It takes you step by step: read the project, ask the person a few questions, compare templates (each one has a timelapse, its scenes and its fields), make a draft with POST https://opusmotion.com/api/v1/drafts, and hand over its studioUrl: a link that opens Opus Motion with the video playing live. PATCH with the draft's editToken changes it, and the link stays the same.
  • Plain HTTPS and JSON: no key, no account, no MCP. Nothing is rendered; the person exports the MP4 from the studio.
  • Never drive this site with a browser to fill the studio: use the API. If it refuses, tell the person and stop.

Trim video without uploading it

Drag the start and the end over your video, check the cut, and download it as MP4. Cutting only the end copies the video as it is, in seconds; a new start lands on the exact frame. Free, no sign-up, and your file never leaves your device.

Your file never leaves your device: the tool runs inside your browser. Up to 1 GB when cutting only the end by copy. A new start or another codec: up to 500 MB and 2 minutes (200 MB and 1 minute on a phone or low-memory device). Use it at https://opusmotion.com/tools/trim-video.

How to use it

  1. Drop your video, or tap the box to pick it from your phone or computer.
  2. Drag the start and the end to the part you want to keep, or type the times. The preview jumps to each point.
  3. Trim it, play the result, and download the MP4.

The first time, your browser downloads the video engine (31 MB, once); after that it opens from the cache.

Questions

How do I trim a video?

Drop it here, drag the start and the end to the part you want, and press Trim. You get an MP4 of just that part, made on your own device.

Does trimming lose quality?

Cutting only the end of an H.264 or HEVC video copies it as it is: no quality is lost and it takes seconds. A new start needs the video re-encoded, so it opens on that exact frame; it's encoded to H.264 at a quality close to the original, with the long side up to 1,920 pixels.

Can I trim a video on my iPhone or Android phone?

Yes: open this page in Safari or Chrome and pick the video from Photos or Files. End-only cuts of H.264 or HEVC take up to 1 GB. A new start or another codec needs re-encoding: up to 200 MB and 1 minute on a phone or low-memory device, or 500 MB and 2 minutes on a computer.

Can I cut out a part from the middle?

This tool keeps one part. To remove something from the middle, trim the part before it and the part after it, then join them with the merge tool.

Which files can it trim?

MOV, MP4, M4V, MKV, WebM, AVI, MPG, TS, FLV, 3GP and WMV, with H.264, HEVC, VP8, VP9, MPEG-4, ProRes and the other common codecs inside. AV1 videos can't be read yet. The result is always an MP4.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. It's trimmed inside your browser and never leaves your device. The first time, your browser downloads the video engine (31 MB, once); after that it opens from the cache.
