For AI agents

If you are an AI agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar) and the person wants a video for their project with Opus Motion, read the guide first and follow it: https://opusmotion.com/agents.md.

  • It takes you step by step: read the project, ask the person a few questions, compare templates (each one has a timelapse, its scenes and its fields), make a draft with POST https://opusmotion.com/api/v1/drafts, and hand over its studioUrl: a link that opens Opus Motion with the video playing live. PATCH with the draft's editToken changes it, and the link stays the same.
  • Plain HTTPS and JSON: no key, no account, no MCP. Nothing is rendered; the person exports the MP4 from the studio.
  • Never drive this site with a browser to fill the studio: use the API. If it refuses, tell the person and stop.

Extract frames from a video as images

Get full-size stills out of an MP4, MOV or WebM: one every few seconds, every frame of a short clip, or the exact frame you stop on. PNG, JPG or WebP, one by one or all in a ZIP. Free, no sign-up, and your video never leaves your device.

Your file never leaves your device: the tool runs inside your browser. Up to 1 GB, and 300 frames at a time. Use it at https://opusmotion.com/tools/video-frame-extractor.

How to use it

  1. Choose which frames: one every few seconds, every frame, or a single one.
  2. Pick the format: PNG keeps every pixel, JPG and WebP are smaller.
  3. Drop your video. For a single frame, move to the moment you want.
  4. Download the frames one by one, or all of them in a ZIP.

The first time, your browser downloads the video engine (31 MB, once); after that it opens from the cache.

Questions

How do I extract frames from a video?

Choose how many frames you want (one every few seconds, every frame, or one), pick the format and drop the video. The frames come out at the video's full size, ready to download one by one or in a ZIP.

How do I get a sharp still from a video?

Choose One frame and move to a moment where the picture is still: a frame from the middle of a fast move is blurred in the video itself. PNG keeps the frame exactly as the video has it.

How many frames can I extract?

Up to 300 at a time. Every frame of a 10-second clip at 30 frames per second is 300; for a longer video, take one every second or every few seconds.

PNG, JPG or WebP?

PNG keeps every pixel and is the largest. JPG is much smaller and opens anywhere. WebP is smaller still and opens in today's browsers and most apps.

Can I use the frames as screenshots?

Yes: a frame of a screen recording is a screenshot at the recording's size, handy for a product gallery or a launch post.

Is my video uploaded anywhere?

No. The frames are taken inside your browser and your video never leaves your device. The first time, your browser downloads the video engine (31 MB, once); after that it opens from the cache.
