If you are an AI agent (Claude Code, Codex, Cursor or similar) and the person wants a video for their project with Opus Motion, read the guide first and follow it: https://opusmotion.com/agents.md.

  • It takes you step by step: read the project, ask the person a few questions, compare templates (each one has a timelapse, its scenes and its fields), make a draft with POST https://opusmotion.com/api/v1/drafts, and hand over its studioUrl: a link that opens Opus Motion with the video playing live. PATCH with the draft's editToken changes it, and the link stays the same.
  • Plain HTTPS and JSON: no key, no account, no MCP. Nothing is rendered; the person exports the MP4 from the studio.
  • Never drive this site with a browser to fill the studio: use the API. If it refuses, tell the person and stop.

How to use it

  1. Paste your website to take its colors, logo and type, or skip it and pick a color.
  2. Type the name and the title (the role, a company or a handle) and choose a style.
  3. Watch the lower third play in both shapes: 16:9 for YouTube and streams, 9:16 for Reels, TikTok and Shorts.
  4. Export it as an MP4 on green screen, then key out the green in your video editor.

Questions

What is a lower third?

The title that appears in the lower part of the screen to say who is speaking: a name, and under it a role, a company or a handle. TV news, interviews, webinars and streams use them.

How do I put a lower third on my video?

Export it as an MP4 on green screen and put it on a track above your video. Then apply your editor's chroma key (Ultra Key in Premiere Pro, Keyer in Final Cut Pro, 3D Keyer in DaVinci Resolve, Chroma key in CapCut, or a Chroma Key filter in OBS) to remove the green.

Why green screen and not a transparent video?

Every editor can key out green, and an MP4 plays everywhere. A version with a transparent background is planned; for now the export is the MP4 on green.

Does it use my brand's font?

The lower third is set in the template's typeface closest to your site's: the same family when your site uses one of the free fonts the template carries, and a similar one when it uses a commercial font. The preview says which one it chose.

How long is it, and what sizes does it come in?

8 seconds: it comes in, holds the name on screen and goes out. It comes in 1920 × 1080 (16:9) and 1080 × 1920 (9:16).

Is it free?

The preview is free and needs no account. The MP4 is exported from Opus Motion's studio with a free account, within the free exports of each day.
